Hi! I'm a newb on this forum, and I'm glad to be a part of jazz community, where guitar playing is not treated as a kind of sport... where guitarists are musicians, not comptetitors or sprotsmen! And now here's my question. I've been listening much to Wes Montgomery's L5 and found out that his sound is like a bit acoustic... of course there was no piezo pickup on his guitar, but I heard, that there's some kind of way to get an acoustic sound and a deep jazz sound in a mix... to put a piezo on a guitar... What do you think about it? Can anyone give me examples of neck humbacker's sound mixed with piezo, so I could know if I need this sound or not? Thanks!

well, I haven't tried to improvise yet... that's because I've just started diggin it... at least I can play the chord progression in the original tempo btw, some russian jazzguitar players told me that coltrane's giant steps improvisation consists of some exercise, that he learned from his italian teacher (a guitar player btw) so i'll try to transcribe and analyze his frase, that he plays many times in the solo... who knows, maybe i'll find out some interesting melody progression that will fit the changes

Yes!! Thumbs up for Ibanez Artcore series! I've played AS73 model a lot and was impressed so much that I even purchased an AK85 at musiciansfriend.com - can't wait till it comes to my country...
Hope chinese guys that make those guitars will go on producing such high quality pieces...
