Hi All,
I'll add a few Greats to the list:
ATTILA ZOLLER---"COMMON CAUSE"/W RON CARTER. Although he's not well known by many players, his command of Jazz//music is Phenominal--I can't recommend this album highly enough...NOT THE SAME OLD- SAME OLD! WARNING: If you're only into the 'Burner's' (Martino-Bruno-et al) this album could be dangerous!!
KESSEL---"kessel plays standards". When Barney was at his peak -1950's.
MARTIN TAYLOR---''MARTIN TAYLOR IN CONCERT'' '(SOLO)'. 5 stars
MARTIN TAYLOR---"CELEBRATING GRAPPELLI", Taylor's tribute to Stephane Grappelli, whom he played with until SG's death; SG's last 3 cuts are on the album.
TAL FARLOW---ANY OF HIS '40'S-'50'S RECORDS (Actually anything at all).,,Mosaic Set is Exc.
EDDIE DURAN---WONDERFUL PLAYER/GREAT TASTE.
All have been re-issued on CD-

I just listened to "Kind of Blue" (Miles Davis) again- that has to be my favorite jazz album of all time. Thinking of doing a chord melody composition for All Blues that would capture the hypnotic rhythm of that piece.

Someone once gave me a tape filled up with different peoples guitar versions of this tune. There were a couple of good ones but somehow Miles' original was best sounding by far. "so what" is another Miles number that I've played on guitar. If you have tabledit there is a tab for it at http//www.angelfire.com/music2/blackmack/
