Has anyone played one of the new Stromberg Montreaux? I'm In the market for a quality jazz box. Currently considering es-175, Heritage 550, es 1-65, 0r an Ibanez George Benson 100. However I recently became aware of the Stromberg line of guitars at 1/2 the price of the aforementioned models. Any info would be greatly apprciated.
thanks starshoe

Hi There,
When checking out the Stormberg site, I noticed on a review page that Stromberg guitars are made in Korea. This isn't necessarily a negative thing but it's an important awareness to have. There is a very good chance that they are produced in the same factory as other "big name" overseas brands. The quality of overseas guitar production has greatly improved over the last few years. These are excellent working guitars but aren't of interest to collectors and they probably won't maintain resale value as much as reputable domestic brands.
Just my $.02
