I am currently guitar hunting and would like to hear opinions from experienced players concerning the Ibanez GB10 and GB200 guitars. I have have heard much about the GB10, but surprisingly little about the GB200. I know the GB200 has a thicker body that should give it a fuller sound. The neck of the GB200 is one fret shorter than the GB10. What advantages of disadvantages does the shorter neck give the GB200? Is the GB200 prone to feedback? I saw Norman Brown play recently, and I could almost swear I saw him playing a GB200, but I wasnt sure. I thought he played D'angelicos. Please, jump right in and speak your mind.

I am hankering for a GB too, but have a new PM120 Pat Metheny with two humbuckers...it is nothing short of perfection,no feedback like my now sold ES-175 and sounds great with the flatwounds that it came with, set up perfectly I might add. I noticed in his video from Ireland that GB has his f holes taped over, this feedback is a common complaint I believe. Let us know what you decide.

I have a good friend who is an awesome jazz player, he plays a natural finish GB10, with a jazz chorus amp. and his tone/sound is great. I play a Guild X175, solid spruce top, 3 inches deep, that i purchased in 1978, 11-50 flatwound, a 1961 ES-345, same strings, and a new John Scofield ibanez, same strings. I play all three thru several different amps, 65 fender reverb. gibson class A head with cabinet and the sweetest of them all my gibson 6A (15 watt no reverb).
The gb10 has a great sound and according to my friend much less of a feedback problem. Try them both before purchasing, I know this might be a challenge to find them, good luck

The GB-10 is a great little guitar. The opportive word here is little. I missed the "big" sound of the full hollowbody and I opted for a Gibson ES-175. As far as feedback goes, if my guitar exhibits any feedback now I'm obviously at a gig where I'm too loud. I play exclusively in restaurants and small clubs. I'm able to keep fb down by placing the amp on the floor and slightly away from me. Never had a problem I couldnt' handle. I did the same when I was in weekend bands. Just turned the amp a bit and no problem. Good luck with your choice.

Aw . . . the Pat Metheny model is what got me started. I went out looking for one, but it was the model with thicker body and single pickup (PM100?). I ended up with L4. How do you like yours. I fell in love with the look of the PM model as soon as I saw it, but never did find one to play . I really do like the new Ibanez models, particularly the one featuring Bubinga. It looked and felt well screwed together. ?;^)~

I have had an ES-335 and ES-175 and I feel this is almost a hybrid between the two leaning more towards the 175. Well buit, nice pickups, no flaws anywhere, she is only lacking a second strap button. Other than that she is too nice to ever consider trading. It is the only one of those 3 I have kept. Nice fast neck too, not too wide or fat.
