The site is to do with standards....analysis,history etc...and interestingly lists the 1000 top standards.At the top of the list is Body and Soul,All the Things You Are,and Summertime followed by the next 997........ www.jazzstandards.com/

I'm curious to know how one would go about rating a jazz standard.What would be the criteria?What would put" Body and Soul" at the top? I suppose you could start with..complexity,subtlety.....

They could probably also be rated by how many different performers have performed them.
One of my favorites is "It's only a Paper Moon."

Horace, Kenny Dorham and Hank Mobley, They name their group as Jazz Messenger, after a year Horace left the group. Their group played hard-bop jazz; it was the start of blues music. Havana Jazz Festival
