Hi! I recently noticed those cracks below three tuners (Gibson deluxe) of my ES 175. Is that a common problem or what's going on here? Is there something I could / should do?

How old is your guitar? I have the same model but it's brand new and I don't have that particular problem (yet?). Some of that stuff is common. I had a les paul with that issue. Must be the laquer. I don't know how to advise you though.

The guitar is about 6 years old.

Those nuts on the tuners have a tendency to come loose, and rattle. The resulting tendency is to overtighten them.

This might be a cause for it, but I didn't touch them yet. All in all it seems to be no serious problem, more a "cosmetical" one.

My old Super 400 had that and weather checking all over the entire instrument. I guess nitrocellulose is very sensitve to temperature and stress. Like you said, just cosmetic.

I had contact with a luthier and told him about my problem. This is what he said: It happens, when the screws (on top) loosen a little bit, because the wood has shrunk. The string tension will do the rest then. He gave me the advice to check them once a year and tighten them gently.
Perhaps this can help you to avoid the problem I had.
