I've been changeing strings on some of my guitars today. I'm pretty anal about it. I polish them up, and oil the fretboards, and buff the frets. It's no small chore to keep 9 guitars in reasonably fresh strings. I did my Takamine acoustic first...it's pretty easy. I want to put a strap button on the side of the neck heel. I even bought one, but I just can't bring myself to drill into it yet.
I had a problem with my Les Paul with the bridge pickup being too high for me to lower the action. Come to find out it was installed wrong. It's better now, but still not where I want it. Now it's too low, but at least I was able to set the action.
Tomorrow, I'll do a couple more. Well, maybe just one, I've got company coming over later.

I know that, Prof! I have 8 guitars. But I didn't open some of the cases since years! I hope, they are still in there!!

Sometimes I don't play guitars for a long time, too. Lately, they all need new strings, so I have to play which one has the best strings. But I figured out a solution to the problem. If I put new strings on one guitar each week, then that puts me on a 2 month rotation, and I should be able to keep good strings on all of them.
