Thought it was time to ask this question again. What tune are you folks working on? I'm trying to get my head and hands around Bill Evans' Remembering the Rain. I put it in G to faciliate the upper voicings. A very challenging song but worthwhile in my estimation. I'll try and post once I get it down.

Well, I've been really busy. That's one reason i haven't posted much lately. The big band I play in had it's concert a couple of weeks ago, and it was a very ambitious concert with some really tough charts. Also, the semester is coming to a close, which is also a very stressful time. I need a vacation, BAD. Any ideas?

I'm working on Charlie Parker. I've just terminated to study Donna Lee including Parker's solo. Folks, he was really a genius...

I've been goofing around with Boz Scaggs' version of The Captain Of Her Heart (I'll put the chords over at Easy Progressions after awhile). I don't know if you've ever heard this, but it's basically electric organ and electric piano, with some saxaphone and flute solos, little modulations. No guitar, so it's wide open for interpretation.
I do versions of several of these little eclectic pop songs, like Little River Band's Reminiscing, Bruce Hornsby's Mandolin Rain, stuff by Steve Winwood.

Jazzalta, I have a book: "Charlie Parker for guitar". Really well done.

Yeah, I got it too. It's great. One of those books I put aside for "later", right beside the Tal Farlow book. Maybe it's time to drag both of them out again.
