it's pretty wierd, that Paco is called a fusion guitarist since he plays flamenco...

As well as the guitarists mentioned I'd like to add the names of John Pizzarelli,particularly...and also his father,Bucky. I guess John is my current favourite.Beautifully styled chord arrangement comping behind his own singing,bringing freshness to all standards touched.Also a writer of great melodies...check out the J.Pizzarelli original"Kisses in the Rain" from the album of the same name

Two great contemporary jazz guitarists not mentioned so far but in my current playlist Howard Alden........swing (7string) Russell Malone.......swing,bop.........2004 release"Playground" is excellent

in my opinion Robben Ford could be filed under either blues or jazz....jazzy blues or bluesy jazz.....jazz blues! anyway you look it it's funky stuff.

Jim Hall - Pretty obvious Bill Frisell - very original, complex, simple, modern, traditional, he's guitar jazz today, fantastic musician. Lenny Breau - fantastic, especially when he was doing acoustic fingerstyle.
