Not much new. I have been playing a lot of guitar recently though which is good.

Did you ever finish the Mickey Baker series? I worked with the first half of the first book a while back and I found many of those chord forms useful. I never did go on with the second part of that book or book #2. What did you think of them?

I'm really not done with Mickey Baker. He's been THE major influence in my comping style. I meant to start another thread for Vol 2, but never really finished the one I started for the Vol 1 chords. Most of the discussion is over at Theory and Reference in the Mickey Baker Vol 1 thread. Kiwijohn (now morjaz) posted a lot of the Book2 material there, but I've yet to see a copy of that book.

I have played through the second half of Vol.1 a couple of times, haven't "studied" it in the way Mickey suggests, i.e. playing everything up and down the neck until you make it second-nature. I really like how challenging this stuff is- maybe you can help me present it better in Lessons?

I really did like those chords and I do have the 2nd book. I just never got into it. I will try to work some Mickey Baker stuff into my practicing routine and let you know what I come up with. I probably will try to finish the 1st book though before going on to the 2nd book; however, I don't know that you HAVE to complete the 1st to go on to the 2nd book.
