Just recently I was able to purchase an archtop hollowbody and I am now looking into an amp to do it's sound justice. For as long as I have been playing, my fingerstyle has grown much more acustomed to acoustic strings and a percussive latin/blues/jazz style. I love a clean tone with lots of mids and a solid low end. I have been leaning torwards an ultrasound acoustic amp because of the notch-filter it comes with, but I don't think certain pedals i own will do well with it (tube rotosphere, wha pedal) So then I was thinking maybe a jazz chorus would be better....but I don't know. Im very new to all this and would appreciate any advice...

Hi tmjazz. A lot of folks seem to like the Ultrasounds and AER's for their archtops. I use a Fender Deluxe and have a little 30 watt Behringer practice amp. Also Polytone has been a staple for a lot of jazzers. I personally prefer the warmth of a tube amp. Keep asking around I guess and finally, try out and compare a bunch and let your ears be your final guide.

Thanks for your response!
Do you think I could run a Hughes & Kettner tube rotosphere and a wah pedal through an Ultrasound acoustic amp, or will that just not work?
