I'm playing rhythm in a big band, and I was wondering how you set your tone controls, and what sound are you guys looking for. At first, I thought I wanted a really fat, bassy tone, but lately, I have been setting the amp flat, and going for a more natural, acoustic tone, and it seems to be working out much better.
What say you guys?

Well, for solo gigs I want a pretty big sound. But I find I have to set my "middle" control back a bit. I start everything off flat and work from there. I'm not sure what you're looking for re rhythm in a big band, but it seems you're on the right track. Good luck.

"The ugly side of Freddie Green comping is that when done badly, the guitar player can single-handedly mess up the rhythm section."
I know that guy! ;D ;D
Thanks, Bender! I bookmarked that site. Lots of good info there.
