Well, I've been wanting a better tube amp for a long time, and I finally ordered a new Crate V3112T combo. It's 30 watts, all tube, and I ordered the optional Tone Tubby hemp cone speaker. This is a really nice sounding amp, and I hope I will be able to go from jazz to blues to cover band gigs all with the same amp.

Congrats Prof. Nothing like a little tube amp. Wish I could have found one for a reasonable price.

Well, it's not exactly small, and...it's the most money I've ever spent on an amp.
I've done alot of research into these. I was comparing them to the new Fender Deluxe Reverbs. I like the idea of chanel switching, so I can set a "lead" tone and a "rhythm" tone. For work in cover tunes and blues and stuff. For jazz, I'm just looking for a warm clean tone that is a little more organic sounding than what I have now. The new hemp cone speakers are more efficient and are supposed to be much more durable than a paper cone speaker. So, I hope it lives up to my expectations. I played a 2 x 12 version of this amp, and it was nice. So was the 1 x 12 version with the Celestion speaker. These are hard to find in stock, even in a place as big as Dallas. I'll give you guys a full report when it's delivered.
