Just bought an Ibanez Artcore AF105F - great-looking and well-built guitar. But I feel the pickup is a little 'sharp'-sounding - almost like a single-coil. Although I haven't yet done a direct side-by-side comparison with my other Ibanez with full-size humbuckers, I feel it's lacking in fullness. Maybe this is inevitable in that it's a smaller pickup? I also heard this sound on an Epiphone Howard Roberts type. Are these Chinese copies using poor pickups or will they all sound like this? Has anyone replaced theirs with a Kent Armstrong for example...? All these questions!
