Jazz music doesn't get much media attention. So I'd thought we could share information on new releases or re-releases of albums we think can be of interest. Swedish jazz guitarist Ulf Wakenius has a couple of new CDs out "Checkin' In" and "Tokyo Blue". Read more at his website: www.ulfwakenius.com/.

Ulf is a great guitarist. I saw him on TV with Oscar Peterson and he blew me away. In fact I went out and bought a black les paul after that program. A little impulsive I must admit, but he impressed me that much. At any rate I ended up with my current jazz box, Gibson es-175. But yeah, Ulf is great.

Right now I am listening to the music of The Yonrico Scott Band’s new album ‘Turning The Corner.’ It’s not very often that you hear of a band with drums, bass, flute, and keyboard. Has anyone else heard of them? I got my copy off of hittinthenote.com, ya’ll should check it out, it’s like no other band out there. Peace~Nicole

Okay so I like to get the word out about new releases, I can't help it they're my fav! I am a huge Derek Trucks Band fan! I have been following them for years and can’t get enough of their real, original sound. If you haven’t checked out their, what I would call, jazz/blues/latin/indian/world music, they have a new release ‘Live at Georgia Theatre’ that is available on their website derektrucksband.com and on iTunes. This is music for all tastes, give it a listen! Peace~Nicole
