Well, I have to admit, jazz really isn't my specialty. Most of what I listen to is what's on in the restaurant where I work (and yes, it's jazz). My main influences: my former teacher, Peter Greisinger, and Alex Skolnick (yes, he's Testament's lead guitarist, but he's doing his own jazz thing right now so....)

Right now I am really getting into Django Reinhardt. I like the harmonic-minor-sounding Jazz stuff. It's really cool. But also I would have to say Joe Pass for the BeBop kind of stuff. And Early Grant Green. ;D

I could never pick only one; but John Scofield is way up on the list. Because of his rock and funk stylings, his playing seems almost attainable for me. Guys like Django, Joe Pass, Pat Martino, Charlie Christian are at times outright intimidating to me.

Miles. Far and away my biggest influence musically. Granted he wasn't much of a guitar player but what he did with the music is amazing. Right now I'm obsessing over the "2nd Great Quintet" w/Herbie, Wayne, Ron & Tony. It was such a revelation to learn that Wayne Shorter wrote so much of that music. Anyway, I don't believe that music would have happened without Miles.

John Mclaughlin is my favourite player, so versatile and such high personal standards have spurred him him on to great heights. Also Benson,Martino,Grant Green,Brian Setzer,Joe Pass.

Some favourites;
Barney Kessel John Abercrombie Stolocho Rosenberg Terje Rypdal Allan Holdsworth Tim Crowther
But if I had to choose one, it would have to be Django Reinhardt.

Freddie Green & Charlie Christian are my main influences... there are so many players who i like, but these 2 are the source from which all good things flow for me.
