Anybody worked out any tunes by PM? In specific, I'm looking at getting a transcription book from a guy in Germany and wonder if anyone's used his stuff before. Dr. Heuser; he's gotta ton of transcripts listed.I'm really just looking for his ballads on Consciousness; I have the TAB to "Impressions" and can't make it happen.

Hey! Ive just discovered Pat Martino and have been blown away! I am religiously listening to Live at Yoshis as we speak. I have got the URL for the transcriptions and I am going to purchase the book for this album. Cant wait!
What a fat sound he gets from his Bennedetto! ;D

There are a number of books out there on Pat Martino's guitar style. As for transcriptions, there is a book called "Pat Martino -- Signature Licks." I believe it is a Hal Leonard publication. I bought it off of MusicDispatch.com. Signature Licks has done a number of different transcriptions and their transcriptions are usually pretty accurate. I haven't had the time to dive into the Pat Martino book as of yet though. Pat is great and he is a nice guy if you ever get the chance to meet him. If you have not done so already, make it a point to see him live in concert. I live near Philadelphia and I have seen him there a number of times. He puts on a great show. If you like Pat, you should also check out another local Philadelphia guitar player named Jimmy Bruno. He is also a fantastic jazz guitar player who you should see live in concert.

Pat Martino also put out an instructional video called Pat Martino "Creative Force." I have never seen the video, but I hear that it is pretty bizarre and incomprehensible. I always wanted to check it out though. Have you ever been to Pat's website? He tries to explain his theory on there as well. It is also pretty hard to comprehend, but you can get some of the basics of his style and how he builds his lines from reading that material. The diagrams on the site are at the very least interesting. Has anyone ever checked out that instructional video? What did you think? Is it worth seeing?
