With regard to your current local/favourite guitar shop, what aspects of it do you like and dislike Like: Personal are musicians and know, what they are talking about. Dislike: Prices!! 7. What things annoy you about guitar shops? If it's too loud in there (Folks testing Marshall stacks next to you, ...) 8. Would you prefer to buy a guitar from a shop or online? No instrument/guitar is the same - so you should have the chance to play / compare it to others.

Ok, but this is the last time.... ;D
1. I research what I want to buy, just tell me the price.
2. yes
3. More selection, so I can snoop.
4. Not to me.
5. The shops that offer saxophones and violins are always more expensive.
6. Too long to answer. See answer 8.
7. Unnecessary, unmusical noise. Several types of music on the house speakers at the same time, again, noise. Children (employees) that call me "Dude".
8. Only what I can play first, but I don't want "new" guitars that are beat up and scratched. It used to be an almost universal policy that children and teens ONLY got to touch guitars if they came in with their parents, and all the expensive stuff was behind the counter, and you have to ask to see it, and the salesman watched you. You had to have permission to try out amps, and if your playing sucked, the amps got turned way down or off.
Guitar stores used to sell guitars to musicians and students, and were staffed by knowledgeable professionals. Now, guitar stores are like playgrounds for adolescents of all ages. It's disgusting.

Jazzalta, I remember those! It's been a while, though. I remember stores that had dedicated tryout/amp rooms where you could close the door and try out an amp or an acoustic. Or, there would be one of several teaching studios unoccupied at the time, and you could use that. Very few stores even offer instruction anymore--it used to be a staple of the local guitar store. I also remember that every store would put a fresh set of strings on a guitar when you bought it.
