One good thing about learning jazz guitar is in learning new songs. These days if you decide you like a song it's pretty easy to get a chart for accompanying or chord melodying. Over Easter I learned two new songs...,So What, and I Thought About You. I spend some time listening to contemporary jazz singers doing standards...John Pizzarelli,Karrin Allyson etc.....and marvel at the abilty to lift a old song out of it's weary old fake book and bring it absolutely to life...the ones I really like are the ones I learn,First the chords and vocals,and then a chord melody version.The most successful of these I'll introduce into my performance set. Maybe some of the members of the forum will post about recent good songs or original music you've been working on
