Hey, folks. I'm fairly new to the jazz scene so please bear with me. I heard this great rendition of Jeepers Creepers done by Django on Swing 39 and I'd like to come up with my own lines over the progression. Herein is the problem: I don't think my ear is trained well enough to pick out the chords (with extensions) just yet. Can anyone help me get started by furnishing the main chords to the song so I can come up with my own take on it?
Thank you in advance.

The straight chords would be I vi ii V, verse starts on the ii. Example in C major (2 beats each chord) - Dm7 - G - CMaj7 - Am7
Jazz it up a little with (one beat each chord) - Dm7(sus2) - G# - G - G7#5 - C - Bb - A7 - A7#5 Dm7 - F - G - G9 - Em - Bb - A7 - A7#5 (repeat)
When it comes around "home" land back on the tonic or I chord, in this example, C Major.

I know the Django version you're talking about, and those are some REALLY interesting chords he does in the intro. I've been thinking about trying to tackle that one myself.
