This is the old Kingston Trio tune, an easy jazzy ballad. I do have the sheet music in Eb, but I play it in D with mainly open chords and 9ths.
One chord you may not know is an F#m with an open high E- X04220 fingered with pinky/index/middle
I'll draw out the other chords as I go through it. There's a D6 played XX0202 a Dmaj7 played XX0222 a Gmaj7 played 3X0002
There's a B9, C9, and D9 all in the X21222 moveable form
Play those, and I'll put down the first 8 bars next post.

Verse 2. same chords as verse 1, except different ending leading into chorus. The high notes of these last 4 chords (notes A,G,E,F#) are what's important so you don't strike the high string in the second-to-last chord.

Thanks, morjaz. It was one of the first songs I learned with "jazz chords." Thought it might find a wider audience here. Copyright is 1959, so it's younger than a lot of standards. Try performing it at a bar, about midnight...lol.

Mahayana, the F#m chord that you described in that posting could also be called, F#m7/A . Depending on how this song is arranged & what other instruments are playing, this bass line can sound great. Now maybe I should go get some mud in my eye. ;D
