I've had this song by Leo Kottke playing in my head for a couple of days now. Jazzalta's new 12-string made me remember it, thought I'd share. It's a simple folk-style tune, slow steady 4/4, lends itself to riffing with minor scales.
The lyrics are kind of a metaphor for this place (back then it was called existentialism). Obscure tune, hope you like it.
TINY ISLAND G--------------------D------------Em--D-------G--C-G Sometimes I feel like a tiny island, floatin' in the sea...
C-----------------------G----------D-Em-----D--------G Palm tree's sway...don't get in the way...it's a tropical ease. G-----------D---------------Em--------D--------G---C-G Everytime I keep my silence...no sound returns to me. C---------------------------G---------D----Em----D----------G Just endless waves...at the end of our days...the sighing of the sea.
(chorus) C---G-------------D-G-C--------------G----------D------ .....Yesterday's gone.......don't know where I come from... Em--------D----------G don't know where I'm going.

verse 2
The very last time...I saw you, darling...I thought it was understood. I might not be back...for a very long time...might not be back for good. And all that time...all that time...I thought you would never fall. It did not dawn across my mind...that you could lose it all.
(chorus)
verse 3
Sometimes I feel...like a tiny island...floatin' in the sea. Palm tree sway...don't carry no weight...it's a tropical ease. And every time...I keep my silence...no sound returns to me. Just endless waves...of the love you gave...washin' over me.
