I have noticed that Gibson is using tunamatic metal saddles on their highend archtop guitars instead of the traditional wood. Are they saving money or are the metal saddles better?

Hi topdogue. Regarding your topic, I don't know why Gibson does that. I personally don't like the tunamatic part of the bridge. On any archtops I've had I always switch to solid ebony compensated bridge. I feel the sound is much more pure and more "woody."
