Hi Y'all!
Mrs. P and I just got back from New York yesterday. We spent a week there, and had a whole lot of fun. We took the harbor lights cruise the first night we were there. later on, we saw the Statue of Liberty, the aircraft carrier Intrepid museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim, which was closed, so we saw the gift shop. D'oh! We walked diagonally across Central Park from the Guggenheim to Strawberry Fields, and the Dakota apartments, where John Lennon lived. We also got to go to the Letterman show, last Wednesday. If you looked at just the right time, you could see Mrs. P. waving from the crowd. We also went to the Empire State Building and ground zero.
We used just about every form of transportation: Rental car, the roads are a major mess there, Taxi, those guys are maniacs!, water taxi, actually a really good way to get from New Jersey to Manhattan, trains, also good because you get to rest. We didn't do the subway or helicopters, 2 of which crashed while we were there.
The highlight for me was a big blues jam that a friend from Connecticut hosted in the city in my honor. Guitar players from all over the area came, and we had a total blast. During the jam, Mrs. P went to a Broadway show.
Our last night, we went to an Italian restaurant with a friend. The food was amazing. The hand-made ricota cheesecake was the best I've ever tasted.
We had alot of fun, walked for miles, and can't wait to get back to New York again.
