I've got a project of sorts.. I want to outfit an inexpensive Ovation Celebrity with a pickup. Basically, i'm going to be traveling to a much more humid environment (from Arizona) and don't want to risk it with my other guitars. Any input about acoustic pickups that give the best jazz sound would VERY appreciated. I'm really pretty dumb when it comes to gear! I found a Kent Armstrong acoustic pickup online that looks promising but I have no idea..... Please help! Thank you! Noah

I just wanted to add something. I'm not set on preserving the acoustic tone. I have no problem putting electric guitar stings on it. My original idea was to attach a floating archtop pickup in hopes of a mellow, round tone. However, I don't even know if this is possible with the wiring and mounting space under the strings. Really got the idea after hearing an old timer, New Orleans guitar player (sorry don't remember name). The sound was like a Gibson jazz box but slghtly more dynamic range than usual. Then I saw that he was playing an Ovation with a regular acoustic guitar sound hole --the circle in the middle . Noah

Thanks, that's good info.
Do you have any experience with any of these pickups?
